The Abbotsford Concert Band (ACB) began in 1960 with 8 musicians.  Within a year, the membership had grown to 60.  Throughout the years, we have been a part of the music community in the Fraser Valley, playing a wide assortment of music from marches to dance music to symphonic festival pieces.  In the past, the band has traveled across the Canada and the United States to participate in a couple of World Expositions.  The Abbotsford Concert Band is a community-based music association that focuses on rehearsing and improving our musical skills, having fun, performing locally and abroad, and contributing to community spirit through music.  The Band participates in concerts, festivals, musical production performances, parades, and just about any sort of community event where music can lift the heart!

The Abbotsford Concert Band generally performs ten and twelve events a year. Performances include a spring concert and music festival in late April /early May, Remembrance Day concert and a Remembrance theme production, Canada Day celebrations, and more.

 In addition to becoming part of a great group of musicians who have fun reaching out to the community through music, you can also use your membership as volunteer experience for credit.  Whether you are taking a class, or applying for a job that requires volunteer experience, you can gain it with us!

 The Abbotsford Concert Band holds weekly rehearsals throughout most of the year on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm—9:30 pm in the Rick Hansen Secondary School music room, 31150 Blueridge Drive, Abbotsford, BC.
