about us

The Sanctuary Milton is affiliated with the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists (CCSB) and the Ontario Southern Baptist Association (OSBA).

The Sanctuary

We share the name The Sanctuary with a number of other churches in the area. The first Sanctuary church was planted in Oakville in 2000.  The heart of that first church was to grow a healthy church that would facilitate the planting of other healthy churches that in turn would continue the process.  That first church has been instrumental in helping a number of churches get started including The Journey Church in Brampton, The Sanctuary Burlington, The Sanctuary Mississauga, The Sanctuary West, and our church, The Sanctuary Milton.

meet our Pastors

Jim Danielson, M.Div. - Teaching Pastor

Jim is a pastor who, before coming to The Sanctuary, spent 13 years in the Christian bookselling industry. Jim and his wife Joy also helped start a church in Louisiana before joining with The Sanctuary. As one of the three founding pastors of The Sanctuary Oakville, he served as the Executive Pastor for four years prior to accepting the position of Pastor of The Sanctuary Milton. Jim has a heart to see people discover the truth and relevance of God's Word for their lives today as well as a passion to see people become connected with God and a caring community that will accept them and love them.

Jim and Joy have three children; Brendan, Johnny and Sarah.

Jason McGibbon, B.Mus., M.T.S. - Worship Pastor

Jason has been involved with the Sanctuary family as a member since the early days of the first Oakville congregation. He spent three years steeping in the exciting vision for church planting that God has given the Sanctuary. A graduate of McMaster Divinity College, Jason is the Worship Pastor at The Sanctuary Milton. Jason has a deep love for the Word of God and loves to explore the Word through music and songwriting, study and teaching or just over a cup of coffee with a friend. Convinced that the gospel truly has the power to transform lives, he eagerly anticipates God doing amazing things in the lives of many people in Milton, and considers it a privilege just to be along for the ride.
